Wear it pink!

October 22, 2007 10:48 AM

Andrew at campaign launchLocal MP, Andrew Stunell, is calling for everyone to 'wear it pink' this Friday as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Last year's 'wear it pink' day raised £3 million for breast cancer research and helped to fund over forty new research projects in the United Kingdom.

The campaign calls for people to donate £2 to Breast Cancer Campaign and wear an item of pink to show their support for sufferers on Friday, October 26.

The Hazel Grove MP said:

"Every year over 200 people in Stockport are diagnosed with breast cancer. It is a devastating diagnosis for both patients and their families.

"I urge everyone to support wear it pink day on October 26 to help raise valuable funds for breast cancer research and give hope to the one in nine women who will be diagnosed in their life times."
