Andrew Stunell MP saddled up at Westminster this week to support the British Heart Foundation's "lifecycle". Andrew is backing events that are taking place across the country throughout June aiming to raise vital funds for BHF to fight the UK's biggest killer.
Seen at Westminster all set to pedal, Hazel Grove MP, Andrew Stunell said :
"I am delighted to support the British Heart Foundation's lifecycle and would urge everyone to get on their bikes and join in. It will be great fun, it will get your heart pumping and it will add extra funds to a vital cause.
"4,600 babies a year are born with heart defects, heart disease kills four times as many women as breast cancer does, and every hour 15 men have a heart attack - only half survive them."
As well as organized bike rides, people can get pedalling for funds at a static bike ride in their local gym, use Sustrans' National Cycle Network to organise their own sponsored ride or contact their local CTC group for a fundraising ride.
Says Andrew: "This Help a Heart week is a great opportunity to dig the bike out of the shed, give it a dust down and get out and about. Just make sure all your friends sponsor you to fund more vital research to better understand and treat heart disease". ENDS
