Stunell champions fight against Climate Change with Bill

November 10, 2005 5:31 PM

Andrew Stunell with wind turbineTomorrow, local MP, Andrew Stunell will sponsor two Bills in Parliament that will help tackle Climate Change, the biggest threat to the world today.

Hazel Grove MP, Andrew Stunell said:

"Tomorrow's Bills are a chance to tackle climate change head on. They will help people and communities to generate energy themselves - good news for fuel bills and for the fight against climate change.

"Many local constituents have written to me concerned about the failure of the government to take climate change seriously."

Mr Stunell added:

"The Government has shilly-shallied around this issue for too long, paying lip service to climate change whilst failing to come through with real action.

"I am not prepared to sit back and wait for the Government to act whilst CO2 levels are rising, the arctic tundra melts and we see worsening droughts and hurricanes across the world." ENDS

If you are a resident of the Hazel Grove constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
