Romiley School bid news is "a bitter disappointment" - Stunell

Commenting on today's announcement that the Department for Education and Skills will not give Targeted Capital Funding for a new school building on the Romiley Primary School, Sandy Lane site, Hazel Grove MP, Andrew Stunell said:

"I am bitterly disappointed that the Government has failed Stockport schools yet again.

"Stockport is among the 40 worst funded education authorities in the country. This announcement is another blow that adds to the catalogue of education funding shortfalls that Stockport pupils and parents already suffer.

"I am urgently asking the Minister to take another look at the bid."
