Local MP, Andrew Stunell is urging people in Greater Manchester to contact the Eaga Partnership, who are architects of the Warm Fronts programme to find out if they are eligible for measures that could make their homes warmer in winter.
Andrew Stunell said:
"Unfortunately, a lot of people don't know about the essential work done by the Warm Fronts group to make homes warmer in winter. Their work can save lives. Scores of vulnerable elderly people die each winter in Greater Manchester because they can't afford to heat their homes.
"275 households have been helped in my Hazel Grove constituency alone including 25 brand new central heating systems in the last year. I want to make sure that the message of comfortable homes that are cheaper to run in winter gets through to everyone who needs it."
To qualify, householders need to own their own home or rent from a private landlord, and also be in receipt of an income or disability benefit.
Andrew Stunell added:
"Anyone who thinks that they could benefit should ring the Warm Fronts freephone number: 0800 316 6014 and get help.
