Local MP Andrew Stunell is fighting for cheaper fuel bills for all Stockport residents.
Following last week's Queen's Royal Assent for Andrew's 'Greener and safer' buildings Act Andrew Stunell is pursuing new energy efficient technology that will cut fuel bills and reduce the damage done to the environment.
Andrew Stunell said:
"Priorities are getting state of the art central heating into our homes. The latest designs boilers can actually generate electricity, and are around 20% more efficient. It saves on the bill, cuts carbon dioxide, and uses less gas.
So called 'micro combined heat and power' (CHP) kits are being promoted by Micro Power Council and the CHP Association. Mr Stunell has now had top level meetings with them and other energy companies to make sure his new Act doesn't just sit on the shelf, but does cut the cost of home heating in Stockport.
Andrew Stunell added:
"This is what my 'Greener and Safer' homes Act is all about. Hopefully, in the near future every home in Stockport can be kept warm cheaply and without damage to the environment."
