Dozens of Stockport residents have been disturbed by the delivery of graphic pornographic material through their letterbox along with their ordinary subscription from Britannia, a popular entertainment company.
Now, after angry residents got in touch about the company's "B Club Extra" mailing, local MP, Andrew Stunell, has contacted Britannia, demanding a review of their indiscriminate distribution policy.
Andrew Stunell said:
"Local people have contacted me because they feel exasperated and offended by this highly inappropriate mailing.
"Britannia's distribution policy is incredibly shoddy. They've even managed to send this sort of material to old people's sheltered accommodation. This outrageous state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue. It's not about being prudish, it's about respecting people's right to set their own standards. Nobody should be required to handle unsolicitored mail of this nature."
Britannia, based in Essex, have apologised for offence caused and have assured Mr Stunell that they will be carrying out a thorough review of their distribution process as a result.
