Stunell backs launch of yellow school buses in Stockport

Local MP Andrew Stunell is putting his full backing behind the fleet of new yellow school buses launched as a pilot scheme in Stockport this month.

Mr Stunell said, "The yellow buses are great news for parents and provide a safe and reliable alternative to car use for home to school journeys. The scheme has already got off to a great start with more pupils than expected signing up."

Six fully fitted single decker yellow buses have been purchased and especially designed to be used for pupil transport only. Pupils and parents, particularly in deprived areas have been consulted to find out what works best for them.

Following the success of this trial, yellow school buses could be introduced right across Greater Manchester. ENDS
