Stunell backs hard working Special Constables

Local MP, Andrew Stunell congratulated the dedicated men and women of the special constabulary in light of the success of National Specials Weekend.

Commenting on the event Mr Stunell said, "The professionalism and dedication of the Special Constables can't be praised enough. Their presence is good news for the people of Stockport and more people must be encouraged to come forward and feel that there service is being recognised and rewarded."

Andrew Stunell has long called for proper recognition of the invaluable work done by Specials who volunteer to serve as part-time police officers and give a boost to the safety of Stockport town centre.

Mr Stunell said, "We have seen police numbers increase at last year, now we need to recruit more Special Constables across Greater Manchester."
