Local MP, Andrew Stunell has renewed his call for there to be a full vote in Parliament on military action in Iraq.
Mr Stunell says, "Although we have had a long overdue debate in Parliament this week, the government has refused to allow a vote on this one issue that matters. Do we send British forces to attack Iraq or not?"
Mr Stunell says that the top priority for British efforts should be getting the weapons inspectors back into Iraq. The dossier of evidence listing suspect sites in Iraq should be used as a shopping list.
"The Iraqi regime is tyrannical and murderous, but if we can achieve results without military action, that must be the top priority. Parliament must be given an opportunity to vote and not simply be left as a talking shop," says Mr Stunell.
